GWBL - WEEK 13

GWBL - WEEK 13

WEEK 13 – 2025 SEASON – GWBL

And we’re back for some GWBL entertainment. First things first – the Patriots. Wow, what a season so far. 11-2, #1 in the AFC. What a game on MNF too. A beautiful victory on the eve of a much needed bye week. I’ll admit that I thought the Giants would give them more of a fight. Between the recent stretch of injuries and the lackluster showing against Cinnci I did not have high expectations for this game. I figured they’d grind out a 23-20 win that would make us feel like the team had peaked too soon. Dead wrong. The Patriots horse whipped those Super Bowl stealing fucks up and down the field all night. Now they have two weeks to prep for the biggest game of the season (so far) – a rematch against the Bills.

Back to fantasy……we’ve almost made it, the fantasy regular season is almost over. Thirteen weeks down, ONE to go. While that sounds exciting in theory, it’ll be an anticlimactic ending to the regular season. The playoff field is set and the byes are nearly locked up. All that’s left is some lower level seeding for the Round 1 cannon fodder teams (hand up).

That doesn’t mean we can’t take a look across the league and provide some thoughts to those who are still paying attention (everyone but Kev?). For this week’s entertainment, we’ll look at each team and discuss their prospects for the rest of the season. I’ll include a final prediction for the playoff teams as well. Here we go:

Brown ^ 2  (Keetz): 10-3

Keetz is the hottest team in the league, riding a 9 game win streak. He’s leading the league in points and has put up the weekly high score 4 times already. He’s almost a lock to get $400 back in his pocket before the playoffs even begin. Easy favorite for the title, but has he peaked too soon? No, the answer is no, his team is ridiculous. This is my pick for the GWBL champ.

The LiGHT SKiNS (Lamone): 10-3

Somehow Lamone is 10-3 despite getting a lackluster season from Lamar. Is his team really this good? Hard to say, the record may be a bit misleading. 2nd fewest points against and essentially tied for 5th in points scored (less than a point separates 4th and 5th). He should probably be 9-4 but Kev didn’t set his lineup this past week. Regardless he’s done a good job of grinding his way through the season and cannot be counted out. I’m guessing he makes it to the final 4 but loses there. Ultimately finishing in 3rd place.

Chase is On the Case (Ken): 9-4

After dominating the first half of the season, Ken has regressed in the second half. Prior to his week 13 win he’d gone on a 4 game winless streak (weeks 9-12). He came back strong with a convincing win in Week 13 (high score for the week), but is it enough to get a bye? He’ll have to beat Dyl and get some help from DMO in order to skip round 1. Unfortunately for Ken, I predict he doesn’t get the bye and loses in the 1st round of the playoffs. 5th place.

King Henry’s Court (DMO): 8-5

The silent assassin, DMO. 8-5 and 3rd in points for – this is not a team you want to be facing in the playoffs. He’s got the studs like Achane and JSN. He’s got the draft steals like Javonte, Kareem Hunt and Olave. Mr December in Derrick Henry. The only question here is QB play. Another lock for the final 4 in my opinion. I’ll go so far as to say he makes the finals, but loses to Keetz. 2nd place.

Tom’s Retirement Tour (Commish): 8-5

My team is limping into the playoffs and not looking good. It’s like one of those marathon runners who almost passes out at the end of the race and has to crawl on their hands and knees just to get to the finish line. It was all going so well, until it wasn’t. Jonathan Taylor was covering up a lot of weaknesses but now that he’s human again, it’s exposing the rest of my team. Doesn’t help that my QBs (Daniels/Dart) can’t stay healthy, but no excuses. The 5th or 6th seed and a 1st round playoff exit is the likely scenario here. 6th place.

She Wants the Young Caff (Dyl): 7-6

Dyl’s been carried by McCaffrey for much of the year, but he’s got a good squad. Hurts is dangerous and it’s never fun to play him. Bucky’s finally back and looks as good as he did pre-injury. Puka/Nico are hitting right now and Kittle is producing. He doesn’t have the best depth but he’s got the marquee names. I’m seeing a semis appearance, but ultimately a 4th place finish.

Deebo Baggins (Frader): 5-8

Of all the Charlie Brown fantasy football teams in the world, this one is the Charlie Browniest. It’s been a rough season for Frader and it was highlighted by a Week 13 loss to Dyl. Had he won, he’d still be fighting for a playoff spot. Unfortunately fantasy had other plans and he lost a heartbreaker – a 141-154 defeat. Dylan got 29 from his defense and another 17 from the nearly irrelevant Courtland Sutton. Add a rushing TD from Nico Collins, the first of his career. Just about everything you can think of went wrong this week. Tough season for the Deebo Baggins.

I LOVE LAMB (Tieg): 4-9

Gotta give props to Tieg for battling this past month. He was 1-9 and almost a lock for Gabriel before ripping off 3 wins. I do keep track of cumulative league wins (regular season) so these do mean something. With a nice pile of draft picks next year, things aren’t looking so bad for the Lambs. At least the pressure is off for the playoffs?

Oshkosh B’JOSH (Kev): 2-11

I was mistaken about Frader’s team. THIS is the Charlie Browniest team in the league. The GAHT DAMN JETS of our league. I’ll do a more thorough autopsy in a week or two but sheesh, what a rough season. The only solace is he might not end up as the Gabe.

Two Joe’s One Kupp (Tone): 2-11

Good gravy, what happened Tone? After a 2-1 start he’s dropped TEN straight matchups. By far the fewest points in the league, maybe the fewest points by any team in recent history (when we altered scoring). A surprisingly lackluster showing from a knowledgeable owner.
