GWBL - WEEK 11
WEEK 11 – 2025 SEASON – GWBL
Welcome back for some GWBL entertainment. We took another week off in Week 10, but I don’t think anyone seemed to mind. Anyway the big news of the past few weeks was the trade deadline. We saw a multitude of transactions in the weeks leading up to the deadline and even saw a buzzer beater on Thursday shortly before the legal tampering period closed. For this week we’re going to look at each of the trades made and try to draw conclusions. It’s still early of course, but it’s always fun to hypothesize how these things will shake out.
(As a teaser – I’ll probably skip Week 12 (Thanksgiving) and then come back after Week 13 to do a final regular season look. See what the playoff field looks like, etc. Season recaps after that…)
Deal 1: Ken and Commish:
Ken Receives: Deandre Swift, 2026 7th
Commish Receives: Rashee Rice, 2026 8th
Thus far it appears I may have won this trade. Rice is the clear #1 for the Chiefs and seems to be unaffected by the injury. It’s not a total loss for Ken though as Swift has put up some good numbers: 25-17-17-13 in the games since he moved to Ken’s squad (one missed with injury). He’s a solid RB2 and a welcome addition to any squad.
Deal 2: Dylan and Tone:
Dylan Receives: Puka, David Montgomery, 2026 6th, 2026 9th
Tone Receives: Rome Odunze, Harold Fannin, 2026 1st, 2026 5th.
I’d say this one is a push. Dylan of course got the most impactful player in the deal – Puka. That said he missed one game with injury and hasn’t been as effective as earlier in the season. Montgomery isn’t much of an asset at this point, that was more of a handcuff. On the other hand, Tone moved up a ton in the draft next year – traded a 5th for a 1st and a 9th for a 6th. He also got Rome Odunze who could be a potential keeper in the 7th round (depending on how the rest of the season goes). Fannin is another potential keeper, although less attractive (FA price, round 8). I guess a win-win for both sides.
Deal 3: Lamone and Tieg:
Lamone Receives: Ceedee Lamb, 2026 5th, 2026 13th
Tieg Receives: Stefon Diggs, 2026 1st, 2026 3rd.
This was a huge price to pay for Lamone. Trading a 1st and a 3rd for a 5th and a 13th. (Lamone will only have 1 pick in the top 30, pending other trades/draft order.) He also gave up Diggs who’s proven to be a starting quality player for the Patriots. Over his last 5 games, Diggs is averaging 14.44 points per game. On the flip side, Ceedee is averaging 17.48 points per game over his last 4. Is that draft capital worth an additional 3 points per game? Will Diggs keep up this pace? Hard to say. I may give Tieg the slight edge for now, but this could change if Ceedee goes nuts the rest of the way.
Deal 4: Commish and Tieg:
Commish Receives: Kyren Williams, 2026 8th
Tieg Receives: Treyveyon Henderson, 2026 2nd
This one hurts. I drafted Treyveyon VERY early. Round 4, Pick 3, 33rd overall. I held him all season and actually did start him quite a few times. I was so sure that he was going to be good. BUT….. eventually I had enough and decided I needed to upgrade….about 25 miliseconds before we found out Rhamondre was ruled out against the Falcons. Hand up, I didn’t even know Rhamondre was dealing with an injury at the time and I definitely did not know he was trending towards or had already been ruled out. Sure enough, Treyveyon goes for 15.5, 30.8 and 36.1 in his next three games. Good grief Charlie Brown. Kyren has been good in his own right, but I lost this trade in a landslide. (I have a horrible track record with Patriots RBs dating back to the Steven Ridley days. Lesson learned, stay away.)
Deal 5: Frader and Kev:
Frader Receives: Saquon, 2026 10th, 2026 13th
Kev Receives: Skattebo, 2026 1st, 2026 4th
For now I think I have to give Kev the nod here. Right off the bat – the first week Saquon was on Frader’s team was during his bye week. Since then, he’s only managed a total of 32.7 fantasy points in 2 games. The Eagles offense is going through something right now and it’s hard to tell if they’ll right the ship. Saquon was always a risky play this year given his 2024 workload, but RB11 is lower than I thought he’d be right now. Also the draft capital was costly – a 1st a 4th for a 10th and 13th. Saquon could absolutely make a run and get Frader into the playoffs though, time will tell.
Deal 6: Frader and Tone:
Frader Receives: Jaylen Waddle, 2026 11th
Tone Receives: Tupac Shakir, 2026 3rd
Props to Frader for going right back to the well. With Marvin Harrison fading/injured and Egbuka hitting a bit of a rookie wall, reinforcements were needed. Waddle played great in his Baggins debut – 19+ fantasy points. Last week was less impressive with just 8. It’s too early to judge this trade, how Waddle performs down the stretch will determine how this looks in hindsight. (Note that Frader does not have a 1st, 3rd or 4th round pick in 2026.)
Deal 7: Keetz and Kev
Keetz Receives: Josh Allen, 2026 4th
Kev Receives: Stafford, 2026 2nd
Keetz comes out looking like a genius here. In his first game as part of Brown ^2, Josh Allen put up a vintage cheat code performance. This state line is pulled directly from Madden, on Rookie Mode: 317 yards passing, 3 TDs (2 INTS), 40 yards rushing, 3 TDs. 45.88 fantasy points. FORTY FIVE. Which somehow wasn’t the highest point total of his season – that would have been Week 1 when he put up 46.56. For the cost of moving down 2 rounds in the draft, Keetz acquired the QB1 in fantasy. He was previously starting Nix and Stafford. Now he’s starting Josh Allen. Keetz is winning the title this year, book it. (If I’m Kev I’m pushing for the 1st rounder, or pushing back that 4th rounder. In any case it was right at the trade deadline with nothing to lose so it’s not a bad trade by any means. Currently Kev is not in the bottom 2, so it may not cost him in the Gabe-Vice Gabe payments.)
